While it is recommended to select a version that aligns with your needs and budget, it is worth noting that mid-to-high-end display devices can now reliably achieve 4K 120Hz resolution. Therefore, we recommend opting for an HDMI 2.1 version of the HDMI AOC, which offers the following advantages:
① Minimal price difference
The price difference between HDMI 2.1 and HDMI 2.0 versions of HDMI AOC is minimal. HDMI 2.1 chip solutions have now become widely adopted, and production costs have significantly decreased compared to 2016. The price difference in HDMI AOC primarily stems from differences in manufacturing processes and raw material selection.
② More technical redundancy
The HDMI 2.1 version has a bandwidth of up to 48 Gbps and supports 8K60Hz signal transmission. Although 8K display devices are currently rare, mainstream mid-to-high-end TVs on the market can achieve 4K120Hz, which requires an HDMI 2.1 version HDMI AOC for signal transmission. Even if currently using 2K/4K TVs, backward compatibility is ensured. Additionally, due to the difficulty of retrofitting pre-installed cabling, it is advisable to pre-install HDMI 2.1 AOC cables in advance. This ensures optimal display performance even if there is a future need to upgrade display devices!
